Fête du citron®

Squeeze the Most Out of the 92nd Menton Lemon Festival!

If you’re currently walking the sun-drenched streets of Menton, you know exactly what that scent is—a heady, electric mix of sea salt and 140 tons of fresh citrus. Welcome to the 92nd Fête du Citron®!

From February 14 to March 1, 2026, our “Pearl of France” transforms into a literal zesty wonderland, and if you haven’t seen it yet, prepare to have your mind (and perhaps your vitamin C levels) blown.

A World of “Merveilles du Vivant”

This year’s theme, “Merveilles du Vivant” (Wonders of the Living), has turned the Biovès Gardens into an organic art gallery. We’re talking 10-meter-tall giraffes, tigers, and a breathtaking “Mother Earth” sculpture, all meticulously “dressed” in thousands of hand-placed lemons and oranges. It takes over 20,000 hours of work to pull this off, and with over 250,000 visitors flocking to our town, it’s officially the second biggest party on the French Riviera after the Nice Carnival.

Whether you’re here for the Golden Fruit Parades on Sundays or the magical Night-time Parades on Thursdays (complete with fireworks over the Bay of Menton), the energy is absolutely unmatchable. But as any seasoned traveler knows, navigating a crowd of a quarter-million people requires a bit of tactical planning—especially when it comes to your wallet.

Need Cash? Don’t Let Your Budget Go Sour

While we live in a digital world, the Lemon Festival is an old-school sensory experience. Between the Craftsmanship Market, the hidden-gem gelato stands, and the local artisans selling that world-famous Menton lemon oil, you’re going to want “real” money on hand. Many local vendors and small stalls prefer cash, and let’s be honest: nobody wants to be stuck at the front of a crêpe line with a card that won’t tap.

If you’re visiting from abroad and need to receive, send, or change money, you don’t need to wander far. Our Menton Globex France agency is perfectly positioned to keep your trip running smoothly.
